Bikram Yoga in Hartford

90 minutes to transform your life

Hartford Sweat is downtown Hartford’s dedicated home of Bikram yoga, the Original Hot Yoga (OHY) practice, and the 26/2 series — 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises performed at 105°F and 40% humidity. Whether you call it Bikram, 26&2, or Original Hot Yoga, you’ll find the most authentic heated practice in Connecticut right here at 777 Main Street, Lower Level.

What Is the 26/2 Practice?

The 26/2 series — also known as Bikram yoga or Original Hot Yoga — is a specific sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises practiced in a heated room. Every class follows the same sequence, which means you always know what’s coming and can track your progress over time. The heat deepens your stretches, supports detoxification, and challenges your cardiovascular system in ways a cool studio simply cannot replicate.

What to Expect at Hartford Sweat

Our Bikram studio is purpose-built for the authentic 26/2 practice — digitally controlled temperature and humidity held at precisely 105°F and 40% humidity throughout every class. We offer both a 90-minute traditional format and a 60-minute Hot Express format for those with tighter schedules. Seven private showers mean you can come straight from work, practice, and head right back out feeling completely refreshed.

Who Is It For?

Every class at Hartford Sweat is beginner friendly. The 26/2 sequence is the same whether it’s your first class or your five hundredth — modifications are always available, and our instructors guide you through every posture. If you’ve practiced Bikram elsewhere, you’ll feel right at home. If you’ve never tried it, there’s no better place to start.

Class Formats

  • Bikram 90 — The traditional full-length 26/2 series. 90 minutes, 26 postures, 2 breathing exercises.
  • Hot Express 60 — The complete practice condensed into 60 minutes. Same heat, same sequence, same results.

If you have not done the Bikram series yet, we recommend start where you feel comfortable in your schedule, heat tolerance, and experience. The 90 minute format has more rest duration between poses, and more dialogue instruction. The day before you take class, hydrate, rest well that night, and know this is a dialogue driven class that we walk you through every step in the 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. Afterward you will feel amazing!

And, if you want to mix it up, we always have the full range of yoga & fitness classes as a great complement to your Bikram practice.
